Does this tool convert text and shapes from my slides?

No. This is a key limitation of client-side conversion. This tool specifically extracts the image files (like JPGs and PNGs) embedded within your .pptx file and compiles them into a PDF. It does not render the slides themselves with text, vector shapes, or layouts. It is an image extractor and PDF compiler.
